Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the appointment take?

Most appointments last 2-4 hours, there are a lot for factors of this. Whether you are on time for your appointment, prepping the area mapping process, numbing, then the tattoo itself, etc. Please plan ahead when booking your appointments.

What happens in a consult?

Your consult will consist of talking about your goals, mapping you out to show the shape of the area being worked, color choices and going over the pre care list. This usually takes 30-45mins and is free.
I can also do a virtual consult which will be via video chat or pictures back and forth through email.

How long does Permanent make up last?

It is a two step process for the best results. With the 6-8 week touch up it’s about 2-3 years. depending on your skins reaction and skin type (oily, dry, combination). Following after care is very important for the best results.

How do I prep for my appointment?

Pre Care is an extremely important step in getting PMU. After your appointment has been secured with the deposit, I will send you over instructions leading up to your appointment. Following these instructions will ensure there is no excessive bleeding, sweating or heat in your skin which will affect how the pigment stays in your skin.

Can I get permanent make up while nursing/breastfeeding

No, it is not recommended. It may increase a risk of infection during the healing process. Your body also may produce more oils and can affect how the pigment sits in your skin.

Can I get tattooed when sunburnt?

No. If you come to your appointment sunburnt unfortunately, we will have to reschedule. Your skins health is important and crucial to being tattooed. Your skin will be tough, dry and hot which means poor healing, little to no pigment retention and you will sweat or bleed during your appointment. Numbing agents may also not work leaving you will be very uncomfortable.

I’m prone to cold sores can I still get permanent make up?

Absolutely. If you follow the pre care steps given to at your consult you shouldn't have a break out. my pre care is extremely detailed

Can I take pain relief before my appointment

Avoid taking anything that will thin your blood 24-48 hours before your appointment. I use the best numbing agents to ensure you are comfortable. If you must take something I suggest taking Hylands Arnica 30X tablets. It reduces swelling, bruising, relieves pain and is all natural.

What do I use for after my tattoo?

How you take care of your new tattoo at home will benefit your healed results. You will receive a goodie bag to take home with the essentials for your after care after your appointment. This will include cleaning instructions & a topical after care ointment. If you experience any abnormalities during your healing process, please reach out so we can determine the next move.

What can I use to clean the area?

Preferably a mild antibacterial and fragrance free soap like Dial, cetaphil, etc

Clean as directed by your artist.

How long is the healing process?

Healing is different for everyone as no skin type or person is the same. After your first session it’s recommended to get a touch up at 6-8 weeks then yearly touch ups after that.

Can I go to the gym/sauna after PMU

No. Please avoid heavy sweating for atleast 14 days after a service. Also avoid swimming!

Can I numb myself before appointment?

I highly suggest you don’t. Please come in with no make up, etc as it’ll be better for me to see the area I’m working on. I use only the best numbing agents so you are comfortable.

Will it hurt?

It is usually painless to mild but pain level depends on the person. I use the best numbing agents to make your appointment as comfortable as I can. If you are concerned about pain you can take Arnica 30x tablets, they are all natural and will not disrupt your healing process; in fact I highly recommend using arnica 30x tablets as it reduces bruising and swelling. I usually have some on hand.

Can I have caffeine before my appointment

No. Please avoid any blood thinners, this included caffeine (coffee, sodas, tea, energy drinks), ibuprofen, blood thinning medications, etc for 24-48 hours before your appointment. If you do you will bleed a lot during the treatment and you may not retain any pigment as the bleeding pushes it out.

Can I get Microblading over old work?

This is based on artist, but you should not microblade over already microbladed eyebrows as it will become "blurred" over the years. I would suggest a powder brow over old microblading.

How much does it cost?

This varies on service, artist, location. A deposit is required to secure your booking. My prices are listed on my website along with the deposit amount. Prices are non-negotiable and there are no refunds.

How can I pay?

You can pay your deposit via the instructions in the email. On the day of your appointment cash is the accepted method of payment.

Tips are not expected as prices are priced accordingly but they are appreciated.
All services are final and there are no refunds.

What happens if I miss my appointment or am 15 mins late.

If you no show you will be charged a no show fee and will not be able to book until invoice is paid. The same goes for being 15 mins late, you will be considered a no show.
